ACG Schools Continues Partnership with Barfoot & Thompson NZ Badminton Open
The Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton Open is delighted to announce its continued partnership with ACG Schools, following their inaugural sponsorship of this event last year. Badminton New Zealand is excited to again be working with an innovative organisation that connects their passion for holistic education with badminton.
ACG Schools continue their Major Partner status with an event that will see its best-ever entry numbers in 2019.
Over the past twenty years ACG Schools have built an innovative, student-centred learning community that provides outstanding education opportunities for students in New Zealand and internationally. ACG Schools offer international curricula and qualifications in private schools for Years 1-13, and a range of sporting and cultural opportunities to develop well-rounded students.
With both organisations deeply committed to supporting participation and community spirit, the partnership is an excellent fit, said ACG Schools CEO Clarence van der Wel.
“Badminton is one of the fastest-growing sports in New Zealand, and we see the physical, mental and academic benefits the sport brings to our students on a daily basis. We’re delighted to be connected to a international event that celebrates both sport and achievement and allows us to be involved in the wider community for the second year in a row.”
Badminton New Zealand Chief Executive Joe Hitchcock spoke of the exciting partnership with ACG Schools.
“It is fantastic to partner with ACG Schools, an organisation committed to unleashing the potential of young people to achieve great outcomes. Badminton New Zealand strives to do the same, through our grassroots to performance programmes and as evident in the excellence on show at our pinnacle event, the Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton Open. We share a common goal to build inclusive communities that celebrate diversity and success.”
The Barfoot & Thompson New Zealand Badminton Open takes place from the 30th April – 5th May 2019 and features hundreds of high quality international badminton players competing for a share of the $150,000 USD prize money in the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament.
