Stunning Upset Win for Lee Cheuk Yiu

A stunning upset in the men’s singles final at the SKYCITY New Zealand Badminton Open in Auckland.

Hong Kong’s Lee Cheuk Yiu has stunned top seed Tzu Wei Wang in a thrilling three game battle, to claim his first ever title at a BWF Grand Prix Gold event.

The unseeded 20-year-old was given a badminton lesson in the opening game and it looked as though Wang would claim his second title in New Zealand, after winning in 2014.

But Lee refused to lie down and came storming back to win 11-21 21-15 22-20.
